A palatial Brussels historical tapestry from the 17th century, depicting the renowned Roman general, Scipio Africanus, seated on a rearing stallion at center, riding in triumph after earning his moniker in his conquests of Africa and Spain; other soldiers with halberds and shields to the right and families kneeling to the left, trumpeting soldiers in a procession in the left background, framed by spiraling columns decorated with putti and acanthus leaves, and an upper frieze of fruit and flower-filled cornucopia.  Wool with silk inlay.
