17th Century French Religious Tapestry 

A period 17th Century French Felletin New Testament Religious tapestry, horizontally oriented, size 9'4"H x 20'3"W.

This tapestry depicts the Life of Jesus Christ, with Jesus on horseback at center, holding a palm frond, in celebration of the holiday of Palm Sunday, with several other figures nearby, many of whom are also holding palm fronds.

With weaver's mark and Felletin town mark. Wool with silk inlay. In very good condition.

Part of a set of three interrelated tapestries, telling the story of the Life and Death of Jesus Christ, items # 32303 - 32305.
